Description

Hydrodiuril (Hydrochlorothiazide)

What it does:

Hydrodiuril (Hydrochlorothiazide) is a thiazide diuretic used to reduce fluid retention (edema) and manage high blood pressure. By promoting the excretion of sodium and water through the kidneys, it decreases blood volume and pressure, helping to eliminate excess water weight. This makes it useful in bodybuilding for pre-contest conditioning or managing water retention caused by certain compounds.

Normal Applications:

Hydrodiuril is commonly prescribed to treat hypertension, congestive heart failure, kidney disorders, and edema. In performance settings, it is occasionally used to achieve a drier, more defined look by reducing subcutaneous water, particularly leading up to competitions.

Common Side Effects:

Potential side effects include dehydration, electrolyte imbalances (particularly low potassium or sodium), dizziness, increased urination, and muscle cramps. Prolonged use without monitoring may lead to fatigue, irregular heartbeat, or increased blood sugar. Proper hydration and electrolyte management are important.

Administration Recommendations & Ideal Dosages:

Typical therapeutic doses range from 12.5–50 mg per day. In bodybuilding, it is used short-term at similar doses during the final days before a show. Because of the risk of dehydration and imbalance, it should be used cautiously and under supervision. Electrolyte supplements are often taken alongside it.
